Day 2- Dan Milne

Today we started an hour early as Mr Alderson forgot that there was a time difference between Iceland and England. We then went to Pingvellir national park to see the rifting between the North American and Eurasian plates. Then it was caving in a lava tube with head torches and a fair bit of screaming. We sat in total darkness for a while and I literally couldn't see anything. We stopped in a forest for lunch followed by a big snowball fight with only a few fatalities. Then we went to geysir where there were hot pools and two geysers. We saw one erupt a couple of times as it goes off every ten minutes. We then walked along the top of a very deep valley to get to  gulfoss, a huge waterfall that looked really amazing. Before we finished at the hotel for the night we drove for a few minutes to try and get a better look at some of the mountains and the glacier with everyone feeling tired and and flat camera batteries from taking so many photos all day. Then we stopped at hotel gulfoss and finished with a tea of battered fish and new potatoes.
